Our team at Shedding Light provides psychological and educational evaluations to help individuals understand their unique needs and the best way to manage them. We understand that each person is unique and tailor our services to the individual.

We use a collaborative approach that incorporates the perspectives of the individual, family, and other relevant stakeholders. With our clinical and school based experience, we have the ability to understand the whole child and the needs of the family. Our goal is to Shed Light on the individual’s strengths and challenges to provide the best possible outcomes.

About Us

Dr. Jennifer Ajosa
     
Founder, Psychologist

Dr. Jennifer Ajosa is a licensed psychologist in the state of New Jersey. She is also a certified school psychologist in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Dr. Jen started Shedding Light as a way to provide families in need of evaluations more accessible resources, with reduced wait times.  With Dr. Jen's clinical background of years in private practice, combined with her school based experience, and knowledge of special education law, she is able to understand a broader area of need of the client and their families and how they apply in the client's daily life. 

Dr. Jen is  a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a bachelors degree in Developmental Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She then furthered her education at Duquesne University where she obtained her Master's Degree in Child Psychology, followed by her doctorate degree in School Psychology.

Since early on in Dr. Jen's career, she has had a desire to support those on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Jen has gone through extensive trainings and certification processes to  become a  Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. Dr. Jen is also trained in administering the ADOS-2, which is currently considered the “gold standard” in the assessment of ASD.

Eileen Scibetta

Eileen Scibetta is Shedding Light's Lead learning consultant. Eileen conducts private educational evaluations to help understand your child's strengths and learning style. Building off of her years of classroom experience and professional certifications, Eileen will prepare a thorough report to help you Shed Light on your child's strengths and weaknesses. Through our home and school consultation services, Eileen also provides resources and evidence based interventions to help families make the best decision for their child's schooling needs.

Eileen has gone through extensive training to further her education. She began her career with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education/ English. She continued on to earn a Masters Degree as a Reading Specialist. Eileen then earned a Post Masters Certification as a Learning Disabilities Teaching Consultant (LDT-C). Eileen also has her Supervisors Certification. Eileen has experience working in the classroom setting, supporting students individually as a reading specialist, supporting students, staff, and parents as a case manager as an LDT-C, and also has the knowledge that comes with earning a supervisors certification.
